WASHINGTON, DC – The Honest Elections Project’s Executive Director, Jason Snead, released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s decision in DNC v. Wisconsin State Legislature:
“The Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Wisconsin’s Election Day deadline for absentee ballots is a win for voters and the rule of law. That deadline is fair, commonplace, and Constitutional—which is more than can be said for the undemocratic push by activists and politicians for courts to rewrite our voting laws in the middle of an election.
Voters deserve fair elections governed by laws that make it easy to vote, and hard to cheat. Instead they have been treated to incessant lawsuits that only inject uncertainty into the voting process and senselessly risk the credibility of our elections. This string of lawsuits in Wisconsin was completely, and correctly, rejected by the courts.”
