On July 16, 2026, Honest Elections Project filed an amicus brief in the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals urging the court to stay a previous district court decision shutting down the SAVE system, depriving states of a critical tool they need to identify potentially ineligible noncitizens on voter rolls.

“Once again, a single left-wing judge has shut down a nationwide federal program. This time, progressives are targeting a crucial resource states rely on to identify potential noncitizen voters, just months from an election no less.
“The League of Women Voters and other partisan left-wing groups claim they oppose noncitizen voting, then try to shut down every tool states have to identify noncitizens and stop them from voting. These groups claim to defend democracy, but once again are running to court to shut down programs that keep elections fair and honest.”
