Alexandria, VA – Honest Elections Project and Americans for Public Trust have pledged and initiated a six-figure digital ad campaign exposing Citizens Not Politicians, the campaign group supporting Issue 1 in Ohio, for accepting and spending millions of foreign-tied dollars to gerrymander the state’s congressional districts.
Citizens Not Politicians has received more than $6 million from Sixteen Thirty Fund, a Left-wing dark money group based in Washington, D.C., which has been given at least $243 million by Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss.
Jason Snead, Executive Director of Honest Elections Project, released the following statement:
“Issue 1 is a power grab designed to force partisan gerrymandering into Ohio’s constitution. Issue 1’s largest donor is a dark money group using foreign money to push its agenda on Ohioans. That is why Honest Elections Project is teaming up with Americans for Public Trust. Ohioans deserve to know that Ohio’s constitution is free of foreign influence.”
