WASHINGTON, DC – Jason Snead, executive director of the Honest Elections Project, issued the following statement regarding the 2020 election:
“Democracy only works when we make it work. Countless poll workers and officials diligently performed their duties this year, and deserve our gratitude. But the fact is, this election has been marred by allegations of misconduct and incompetence—particularly in key areas like Philadelphia and Detroit—to say nothing of the partisan push to eliminate voter safeguards that protect the credibility of our elections. Americans should neither rush to judgment nor close the book on the lessons of the 2020 election until any legitimate concerns that could affect the outcome have been adequately investigated and resolved. Americans deserve a voting system that delivers timely and accurate results which are beyond any doubt or uncertainty.”
