WASHINGTON, DC – Jason Snead, executive director of the Honest Elections Project, issued the following statement regarding Georgia’s determination to conduct a by-hand recount of all votes cast in the Georgia presidential contest.
“I applaud the state of Georgia’s commitment to delivering a fair, honest, and transparent election. Today’s decision to launch a full hand recount of presidential votes will help build trust in the final results—which is particularly important given the magnitude of this election, and the closeness of the vote in Georgia. A manual recount can help officials identify any genuine irregularities, put to rest any unfounded rumors, and ensure that every lawful vote counts.”
