Honest Elections Project Reacts to the Senate Rules Committee hearing in Georgia

“Today’s Senate Rules Committee hearing in Georgia was a distraction from the real issue: making it easier to vote and harder to cheat. The premise of the hearing, that basic rules, supported by a majority of Americans, are barriers to voting that should be eliminated, flies in the face of objective data and ignores the strong desire for strong election safeguards that preserve confidence in our elections. Even the title of the hearing seems to recognize that Georgia’s new law will not actually stop anyone from voting. The fact remains that the Georgia law implements reasonable AND popular provisions that are mainstream voter integrity policies. Any other suggestion is without merit.”
